Begin with the process duty
Describe what the equipment must do, the operating sequence and the intended plant environment. A duty description gives engineering teams context that a machine name alone cannot provide.
Define the operating envelope
Share expected capacity, temperature, pressure or vacuum conditions, material characteristics, batch or continuous operation and any known upset conditions. Values should be identified as normal, minimum, maximum or design conditions.
Clarify interfaces and deliverables
Include available layout drawings, nozzle or connection expectations, utilities, lifting constraints, inspection requirements, documentation needs and the desired delivery boundary. Clearly defined interfaces reduce assumptions during quotation.
